Responsabilidad social corporativa > Our People
Our employees are the heart of a culture of caring that supports health and well-being for our members, customers and communities.
Our more than 10,000 Texas employees are committed to standing with our members and communities, through it all. And they bring this commitment to life in their work and with thousands of hours as volunteers.

Showing up in our communities is a vital part of our culture. In the months leading up to our 95th anniversary on Dec. 20th, employees across 16 offices statewide participated in acts of kindness in recognition of the company's commitment to building healthier communities.
For 95 Days of Kindness, employees across Texas participated in events such as awareness walks, donation drives and service projects. The projects included assembling 5,200 bone marrow swab kits for the National Marrow Donor Program and 1,650 hygiene kits for community partners.
In total in 2024, more than 3,600 employees volunteered more than 52,000 hours with more than 11,100 nonprofit organizations across Texas. By logging their hours with our Blue CorpsSM program, they generated more than $280,000 in matching donations for 250 organizations.
Meet Yev Prokopenko, a BCBSTX systems analyst who volunteered 538 hours in 2024 with organizations including the Texas Land Conservancy and the Richardson Public Library.
Recognizing, respecting and celebrating unique experiences and perspectives helps our employees better serve our members and offer products and services that meet their needs.
In 2024, more than 2,150 employees participated in one or more of our eight Business Resource Groups.
The BRGs provide all employees the opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests, fostering a sense of community inside and outside of work. The groups engage in community-focused volunteer activities and provide a critical connection to the business.
